CASE Medical Group is a physician-only, physician-owned private anesthesia practice serving the greater Sacramento region, from Davis to Auburn. For more than 40 years, CASE has partnered with Sutter Health to provide comprehensive anesthesia services throughout the region.
We serve five hospitals, approximately 10 outpatient surgery centers, and several eye surgery centers. Our regional subgroups offer distinct practice environments and clinical mixes, allowing physicians to build a practice that aligns with their clinical interests, desired workload, lifestyle, and where they choose to live.
In addition to a broad general anesthesia practice, opportunities include Obstetric, Cardiac, and Pediatric Anesthesia, Acute Pain, and a diverse range of surgical cases.

Sutter Medical Center Sacramento
Sutter Medical Center Sacramento (SMCS) is our Midtown Sacramento campus and is home to more than 60 CASE anesthesiologists. The flagship hospital complex includes:

22 main operating rooms
Four outpatient surgery centers
Two eye centers
Multiple additional anesthetizing locations
The size of the group provides scheduling flexibility and a manageable call frequency. Physicians may also rotate through the Acute Pain Service and Board Runner roles, providing variety in day-to-day practice and additional opportunities to work alongside colleagues throughout the group.

Our experienced administrative team supports physicians with credentialing, billing, scheduling, expenses, licensing, and payroll, allowing our anesthesiologists to spend less time on administrative responsibilities and more time focused on patient care and the practice of anesthesiology.

Who We're Looking For
CASE is recruiting well-trained, collegial anesthesiologists interested in building a long-term career in the Sacramento region. We welcome a diversity of backgrounds, interests, experiences, and clinical skills.
Both newly graduating residents and experienced anesthesiologists are encouraged to apply. CASE typically welcomes approximately 6–10 new physicians each year and does not rely on locum tenens staffing.
