Locum Anesthesiologist (MD or Dental) | Locum | Pediatric Dental Sedation | Trussville, AL

Zeal Med is seeking an Anesthesiologist (MD/DO) or Dental Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens assignment in Trussville, AL. This is a pediatric dental anesthesia role providing deep sedation in an office-based setting.

Assignment Details:
Start: As soon as credentialed
Schedule: 4 days per month (any combination of days), 10-11 hour days, with potential for additional coverage as needed

Office & Caseload:
Office-based dental practice with 3 treatment rooms. Dentists and dental assistants are available, and an EMT is provided. Office production is 8-10 cases per day, with an average case running 45 minutes to 1 hour. GE Carestation 650 anesthesia machine.

Case Details:
Pediatric dental procedures including crowns, extractions, fillings, and full mouth cases. Patient age range is generally 3 to 13 years, occasionally an older teen. Open to closed or open airways, but cases require deep sedation.

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate, plus reimbursement for travel and lodging as needed.

Requirements:
MD or DO with anesthesiology experience, or a dental anesthesiologist. Current DEA registration and the ability to be credentialed with Alabama Medicaid. Pediatric experience preferred. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to respond promptly to practice needs and emails for patient approvals.
